The Tidworth Community Area Awards recently took place on the 25th May 2011 at the Wellington Academy.

The event was about recognising endeavour as across the Tidworth Community Area  there are countless people working tirelessly and selflessly for the benefit of others.  Their achievements often go unrecognised and unappreciated as they are known only to those who benefit.

Whilst many prefer to help others quietly and with no reward, the organisers believe that the  community will be strengthened by knowing what is being achieved on a daily basis, and would wish to record its appreciation; it might even inspire many more of us to think about how we can become involved in initiatives or projects that interest us, or simply encourage us to take that extra step towards making a difference.

Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire, John Bush, Esq., OBE, JP, was at the Awards ceremony and  Castledown Radio managed to have a quick interview with him.
