This years Blue Light Day, which gives members of the public a chance to get up close to the emergency services and other support agencies, took place at the Tidworth Leisure Centre on Sunday 17th July. Despite poor weather leading up to and on the day of the event, lot's of exciting vehicles turned up for the kids (and adults) to crawl over, and we had a visit form the BFBS ice cream van, with free ice cream!

In the car park we had vehicles from Witshire Fire and Rescue, the NHS Ambulance Service and both civilian and military police. Stallholders inside the leisure centre included the T2A club, The Bobby Van trust, the Tidworth Community Partnership (who were carrying out a survey with the prize of an ipod/radio) and a Army health promotion. We were also entertained by Casa de Samba, a samba group from Salisbury, who played their steel drums with great energy and enthusiasm.
Castledown Radio's Really Red Radio Roadshow kept the visitors entertained during the afternoon, with some great music. Why not make a note to come along next year and support your local emergency services.
