Castledown Radio's Really Red Radio Roadshow recently supported this years Shipton Bellinger Fete, which took place at the playing fields in Shipton Bellinger. Opened this year by Sir George Young, the fete featured several new attractions, including a Shotokan Karate demonstration, parade of classic cars and bikes, and an Army Cadet Force field-craft display.

One new interesting feature that caught my eye was the Pickled Image presentation of Travels with Grandad, which entertained the kids with stories from Grandad, featuring items that he had collected in his travels.
Other attractions included Melvyn the Thatching Spar maker, Hampshire Fire and Rescue, a huge crane from the army, and all the usual, popular stalls. Although it threatend to rain all afternoon, the weather stayed mostly dry, and a good time was had by all.
Listen to Sir George Young taking about the fete, Kevin Nicholls from Shotokan Karate, Adam from Pickled Image and Julie from Scotty's Little Soldiers.
