A report to cabinet next month (September 13) will show Wiltshire Council is performing well and delivering the goals set out in its business plan.

The plan sets out how the council intends to meet the challenges, while delivering its vision to create stronger, more resilient communities.

The goals are for the council to provide high quality, low cost customer-focused services, prioritise local issues, be open and honest in all decision making, and work with partners to support Wiltshire's communities.

The council's cabinet will discuss the business plan's progress on September 13.

John Brady, cabinet member responsible for performance, said, "Wiltshire is still delivering good services in difficult financial times. The performance of the council against its targets in the business plan is very positive and we will continue to work to maintain the quality of our services for the residents of the county."

The report to cabinet provides information on performance relating to priorities such as safeguarding vulnerable children and adults, waste management, housing, economy and unemployment, and leisure services for the period April to June 2011.

All targets have been met apart from telephone call connection rates. The council is monitoring this and will be doing everything possible to make sure customers are able to get through to the services they need as soon as possible.

The report will be available on the council's website from Friday, September 2.
