Castledown Radio would like to apologise for the recent technical glitches in our FM and Internet services, however we do have a very good reason...we've moved! Between 9th July and the 18th July 2011, thanks to the dedication and hardwork of the Castledown Radio Volunteers we moved into our new studio - down to every last wire, mic and speaker! We actually switched broadcasting from the Old Studio to our new Studio on 14th July - which we think is quite impressive bearing in mind we were starting with an empty shell.
Thanks to the generosity of local organisations, businesses and individuals we now have:
- two Live Studios as well as a dedicated Ingest Area and Talks Studio to enable larger guest capacity (for live debates and recordings)
- completely rebuilt our IT infrastructure on donated hardware & upgraded our PC's
- improved our internal audio setup and added flexibility to use the new studios to their best ability
- a dedicated Training Area
Once we've finished emptying the boxes and finding homes for everything we'll be announcing an official opening - giving you the chance to come and see the work that we do, both for Community Radio and also what we can offer as professional services to businesses. They say that moving house is one of the most stressful things you can do - moving and rebuilding an entire radio station in under a month has certainly proved that!
Please bear with us while we iron out any remaining glitches in our new set-up - we look forward to welcoming you to the new Castledown Radio studios in the near future.
Once again, a huge thank you to everyone involved in the move, we'll be issuing more updates over the next few weeks where we can thank everyone specifically for the contributions they have made to Castledown Radio..."Radio For You - By You".
