Castledown Radio

Castledown Radio, the community radio station serving the Tidworth Community Area on 104.7fm and worldwide via the internet. is pleased to announce that it has been granted a 5-year extension to their community radio licence (held by Castledown Radio Limited), a not-for-profit organisation. Ofcom confirmed on the 20th May, 2011 that Castledown Radio's licence extension had been accepted and that the station can broadcast via 104.7fm until 2016.

As well as providing regular live shows, Castledown Radio also covers:

* local events such as Area Board meetings, Council Meetings & Conferences

* local parish events such as shows and fetes

* local interviews with local groups and organisations

* PA and Roadshow facilities - we regularly work with the local Police on their Bluez 'n' Zues disco and recently supported the first Wiltshire Scouts Mayhem event at Avebury with over 2000 people in attendance.

* Regular updates with community events and local issues.

* Training - The "Day in Radio" courses, which give people the chance to go from Beginner to Broadcaster in 1 day have been restarted this year to allow everyone to gain the basic skills needed to produce a radio show.

Without the hard work and effort of the volunteers and supporters of Castledown Radio, both in terms of radio work and the financial support received from Wellington Academy, local town and parish councils and the area board to name but a few, none of this would have been possible.
