Castledown Radio

Castledown Radio attended the recent Wellington Academy Christmas Craft, Gift and Enterprise Fair, both as a stall-holder to promote the radio stations services, and as a broadcaster, since this event was our first ever live broadcast. You can imagine all the work that went into the technicalities to prepare for the radio broadcast, and the hours that went into the planning. Baz Reilly extended his Drive Show to allow live transmission of the carol singing and solo artist's from The Academy, and John Sparrow acted as the reporter and link man in The Academy during the event.

There were many stallholders present, selling anything from jewellery to kid's books, and there was lot's of nice food, including hot meals and drinks available on the night. A large raffle was run by the Wellington Academy Parents, with some very high quality prizes.

Castledown Radio were offering the chance to record a Christmas message to you loved ones and family, these will be transmitted on 104.7FM during the Christmas period. DJ Dan from the Really Red Radio Roadshow also gave DJ'ing lessons to many of the young people during the evening.

At the end of the evening the general opinion was that it had gone very well, and that there was a high chance of the event taking place again next year, so well done to everyone that organised and attended the event.
