The Wellington Academy officially opened its new building on 26th April 2011.

A 300-seat theatre, sports and fitness centre, health and beauty spa, and an indoor shooting range. will all form part of the new Academy facilities as well as offering  boarding houses for 100 students.

Two boarding houses, to be called Benson and Wellesley after two of the Wellington College boarding houses, are being readied for opening in September 2011, making the Academy Wiltshire's first state boarding school. There are boarding places available for 100 children, and there is expected to be significant interest from services families in these, as their children comprise nearly half the student body.

The whole campus will be completed by the end of the year, and will be used not just by the children but also by the local community.   The Academy will be officially launched in October 2011 by HRH The Duke of York, the Academy's patron.

Since opening in 2009, The Wellington Academy is one of Wiltshire’s highest performing schools with  Ofsted judged their progress ‘outstanding’.
