The Really Red Radio Roadshow was up in Collingbourne Woods recently, supporting a new venture in this area, professionally organized mountain bike racing. Promoter Ian Sugden and his team were able to put on a great set of races during the day, based on 2.5km laps of the Collingbourne Woods, some races lasting as many as 5 laps.

During the event each entrant did a time trial to get a "ranking", one or two full 5 lap races and entered into a relay race. The competitors commented that the variety of races was unusual, and that they would definitely enter again. The event was supported on the day by Mason Thomas, British Cycling's events officer for the South of England, who described the day as "fantastic".
