Sunday 13th November saw the Rector and Parochial Church Service of St James, the Ludgershall Town Council and 26 Engineer Regiment and the town's people of Ludgershall attend the church service and memorial service to mark Remembrance Sunday 2016. Castledown FM were in attendance to transmit the service on 104.7FM and to the High Street. You can hear the services and interviews from that day by clicking the links below.
Coverage of this event would not be possible without the support and assistance of Ludgershall Town Council and in particular Janet and Owen White, the support from Rev'd Claire Maxim and her colleagues from St James' Church Ludgershall and Faberstown and of course 26 Engineer Regiment, based in Tidworth. The Castledown FM team consisted of Mark Freeta and Rob Fakes in charge of audio during the church service, Mike Pratt and his Andover Radio Club colleague Richard Powell for the IP and VHF links, John Sparrow, Shaun Taylor and Jon Kirby in charge of the trailer on the High Street, Simon Davis for the memorial links and Steve Vear for the on air links assisted by Chris Steers at the station.
Tidworth Area Board are holding a mental health awareness raising session on Wednesday 7th December from 7pm at Castledown Business Park (see poster for full details).
The session is being delivered by Karen Spence from Public Health and it takes inspiration in its approach and ethos from the extremely successful Alzheimer’s’ Society ‘Dementia Friends’ programme and is designed to deliver community awareness raising, increase understanding and reduce stigma and discrimination.
The session itself is interactive and suitable for both professionals and members of the public. It involves some group activities and video clips as well as information about mental health and how to keep yourself well. It focusses strongly on how to improve and maintain wellbeing and mental health and uses tools like the Five Ways to Wellbeing.

What a great day we had at Tidworth Town Festival, not only had the organisers (Tidworth Town Council and CORE4 Events) laid on the stalls, the arena displays and some great music they also arranged the weather!
As the official media partner to the event Castledown FM transmitted 13 hours of live programming, covering the event from stall holder interviews to the live music right thru to the headline act Not The Rolling Stones. We will be repeating some of the music and interviews from the day during the coming weeks so keep an eye out on our Facebook page for dates and times.
Here's just some of the pictures taken by our roving photographer on the day. As lot's of people have already said on social media and in person, well done to all the volunteers and organisations for putting it together, and well done to the town of Tidworth for being so supportive!
