Would you believe me if I told you that Castledown Radio has been on FM for one whole year! That's right, we launched on 104.7 FM on Saturday, 4th November, 2006.
So we had to have a party, and the idea was put forward to have 12 whole hours of live radio, with a mix of presenters and music. And we had a cake, and champagne!
Baz & Vanessa cut the cake, as John McConnell looks on
The Media Centre was open to a steady stream of visitors, and after Station Manager Baz Reilly had started the day we were treated to specialist shows from Luke Sperry, Marc Denton, Vanessa Stone, John Sparrow (with the Voice of Ludgershall John McConnell providing the "voice", since the other John had lost his!), Shane Graham, new presenter Haydn Cragg and a great joint show called "Bill Oddie", with Luke Sperry and Rick Young. The 12 hours was completed by Helen Taylor, with a great choice of music that meant a lot to her.
Some of the presenters and guests on Sunday raise a glass to 104.7FM
