Local Soldiers Teach Kids About 'The Beautiful Game' PDF Print E-mail

Sergeant 'Chalky' Wiltshire visited Castledown Radio recently and kindly took the time to tell us all about a sporting event that he and two of his colleagues have organised.

The idea is to bring civilian and military children together, with quite literally a common goal - football.

With their passion for the game, Chalky and fellow soldiers Corporal Pete Shaw and Sergeant Vince Hope decided it would be a great idea to hold a 'Football Training Week'.

The idea proved to be a huge success with over forty youngsters attending the event. Chalky chatted to Shirley Swain about the training  and his role as Manager of Clarendon Under-12's.
